Men In Print Too??

               Usually sporting a fierce feline or paralyzing python on your back or accessory was left to the curvier sex. But the days of the animal print craze being exclusive to just women are soon to be extinct. In this century, testosterone filled fashionistas are catching jungle fever too. I first noticed the subtle switch in numerous LMFAO videos. But I have to admit, I didn't pay their cheetahlicious pants any mind because I mean come on, its LMFAO! But I could no longer ignore the slow take over of men in print when come BET awards, not only was Hosea Chanchez wearing leopard Louboutins but Jaden Smith showed up in zebra print. Say what??!! 

Clearly men are trying to level the fashion playing field and make a statement that alpha males too can rock animal prints. You all know by now I'm all for a well dressed man, but animal print? I'm still trying to wrap my head around the concept of my Adonis feeding me grapes wearing blue cheetah print skinnies smh. What do you guys think? Is men in prints a hip hooray! or a boo go home roger??

My Gay Husband

            As I'm sure some of my loyal followers know I'm quite the adamant fan of a well dressed man. However, the more I keep on my track of these, lets call them pants saggers, a new wave of well dressed men have been catching my eye and making me stare in appreciation. The gay man. Being a student of art school, a fashion major, and also just because its become exceedingly more acceptable in this 21st century, I am constantly surrounded by gay men. Among other aspects what I've noticed most is that in general their way of dress is unlike the straight an narrow members of their species.

           Their way of dressing has such a range for from polished and preppy to outlandish and exotic. Its bold and experimental and just as cocky as their personalities to match. Coming from a girl who at one point felt bad for men because I thought they couldn't accessorize like women; I'm outright taken aback at the depth of detail and  artistic expression these individuals put into the attire. Some of these men I would down right marry based on their dress and swagger alone even if it meant a constant struggle to 'turn them back straight'. Yes my gay husband is definitely a force to be reckoned with here are a couple of examples:

Chicagos' Got Talent: Shrine Haberdashers Boutique

           Rummaging around Chicago's Gold Coast (the most expensive part of downtown), I came across a hidden treasure. On the second story of a cluster of boutiques off Oak Street I found a place that although might not benefit me directly, my future boyfriend/husband or any male who likes to just look good would worship me for. Shrine Haberdashers is a luxury men's accessory boutique. They carry an assortment of accessories from ties, to jewelry, to cuff links, and suspenders. They sale mostly men's accessories but also have a select few purses and hats that the female demographic may enjoy. All things are hand made and artistically crafted.

        It is a new company, Owner Rafik opened it late last year. Although the price range is at the moderate level (most pieces ranging from $100 to $600). All items are luxury goods built to last, and meant to be passed down through generations. Shrine offers styles for both the traditional and more flamboyant consumer, but they all share the common denominator of superior quality. So any man who wants to step up on his preppster game, or wear something exclusive, or any woman who wants to treat her man; make your way over to 47 Oak Street and give the shrine experience a try!
